Notably, they are the third overall K-pop girl group to work with Riot Games following (G)I-DLE in 2018, and TWICE in 2020 respectively—unlike both groups, NewJeans collaborated on this song not as part of the League of Legends-affiliated band, K/DA. Backed by suspenseful production, the song illustrates the mounting pressure that players at Worlds must confront as they face off against the most elite players and teams, depicted as “gods”. Initially announced on September 27, 2023, there was some concern that NewJeans' usual soft vibes wouldn’t match the atmosphere of a Worlds anthem.
