Enrique is Emmy and Max's new friend and next-door neighbor who moved to the U.S. from Colombia and also lived in Puerto Rico for a short time. He still misses his former homeland in Colombia and occasionally talks about how he misses the parties and traditions and the friends he used to have in the country he no longer lives in. However, he's glad he's met his new friends next door to his new house and Dragon Land.

Ponyo does not like her father at first, which is why she runs away from home at the beginning of the film, and she is also rambunctious, causing trouble around the house after Sosuke adopts her. Soon, she withdraws magic and decides to live by Sosuke's side as a part of his family. She is a fish at first but becomes more humanlike when Sosuke self-injures his finger and she licks his scar, healing him. Her favorite food is ham.
