Description

Sonata is the main antagonist of the My Little Pony and Ace Attorney crossover fan series, Turnabout Storm, and a supporting protagonist in the fan sequel, Elements of Justice. With voice Provided by actress Josie Maran, She is the manager and accomplice of racer Ace Swift. The two made a living by blackmailing other racers and forcing them to throw the races to Ace so he could win the prizes while building up a reputation for having never lost a race. Ace and Sonata split the rewards. Eventually, Sonatq came to regret the blackmail scheme that she and Ace lived by, feeling remorse over harming others. Because of this, she tried to quit. When she told Ace she wanted to opt out of their blackmailing actions, Ace lost his temper and tried to kill her, prompting Sonata to defend herself with an electrocution spell. Ace survived and tried to pursue her, but was killed when a bolt of lightning struck a golf club he was holding, which acted as a lightning rod and pumped electricity into his body. When Sonata returned to the scene and found his corpse, she believed she had killed him and, not believing anyone would believe her claim of self defense, altered the scene to frame Rainbow Dash for his murder instead. Sonata is very intelligent. She succeeded in blackmailing several racers alongside Ace, studied magic well enough to learn how to teleport (stated in Turnabout Storm to be a difficult spell), and was able to become a defense attorney within six months of her release. Her cutie mark represents her skill in skill in deducing things about others from minor details. Originally, she was rather amoral, taking advantage of her skills by blackmailing others into losing to Ace so she and Ace could profit from winning the races. She was even willing to frame Rainbow Dash for murder to save her own skin. Unlike Ace however, she felt remorse for her crimes. After Phoenix managed to prove that she didn't cause Ace's death, she had a change of heart and decided to become a defense attorney to help others.
