Description

Yuwen is the typical 'mean kid', always making fun of others for the sake of levity. His teammates on the Pickles is a textbook demonstration of such since he mostly records their fails on his cell phones and puts them on the internet for everyone to see and laugh at. Though he doesn't seem to have any malicious intent, since when showing Laurie the humiliating video he posted of her failing to hit the ball at their softball game, he was expecting her to laugh along, suggesting he lacks emotional intelligence. Yet, there is more to this obnoxious bully then meets the eye as he has a very self conscious "inner self" who harbors a secret crush on fellow Pickles teammate, Taylor. After he and Taylor become a couple, Yuwen becomes more good-natured, and starts showing his "true self" to Taylor both metaphorically and literally. In return, Taylor also reveals she also has an imaginary "true self" which likely explains how they grew so quickly as a couple. Unfortunately, Yuwen's insecure side takes over once Taylor starts befriending their teammate Tom, leading to Yuwen to get paranoid in believing that Taylor is seeing Tom behind his back, which soon leads to Taylor dumping him when Yuwen won't give his insecurity a rest.
