Description
Rani is a teenage lioness who appears in Season 3 of The Lion Guard. Rani is the deuteragonist of the second half of Season 3 and is the leader of the Night Pride, eventually ascending the throne by becoming the current Queen of the Tree of Life. Not long after her rise to power, Rani later develops a romantic relationship with Kion before marrying him and ruling the Tree of Life alongside him as Queen and King by the end of the series. Appearance Rani is a sleek young lioness, with reddish brown fur and a dark brown stripe running down her back. On her back, are markings that look like a horseshoe. The top of her ears are lined with a similar brown, and her pink inner ears have dark brown fur underneath. She has a dark pink nose and her eyes are chocolate brown, with bright brown eye rims below her eyes. The brownish-cream color of her lower eye rims is also present on her muzzle, her underbelly and her paws. The back of her four legs have many little, dark brown spots, which look similar to Kion's. The tip of her tail is dark brown. She has a bright, pink colored scar on the inside of her right front leg from unknown circumstances. On her shoulder she bears the Mark of the Night Pride, as she is the Night Pride's leader. Upon becoming Queen of the Tree of Life, she wears blue paint on her forehead to symbolize her leadership. Personality Rani is a strong female leader, like her grandmother Janna. She is very protective of the Tree of Life and its inhabitants as well and cares much for her little brother Baliyo and uncle Surak, as well as all animals of the Tree of Life after she becomes their queen. Rani is brave and determined in her duty to protect the Tree of Life although she has sometimes her downsides. As heir to her grandmother's throne and leader of the Night Pride, she carries herself with a headstrong certainty that she is in the right and was at first quick to judge others before knowing them, as she judged Kion harshly when they first met (and disregarded that it was her brother Baliyo who started the conflict), believing in the philosophy that actions speak louder than words. This is subsequently leading her to refuse Kion and his friends to give them a free passage to the Tree of Life. It was only after reporting to her grandmother, who requested Rani to bring Kion to her after saying a few words of wisdom and consulting with the spirits of her parents, that she gave them a second chance and was impressed by how the Guard cleared the mountain passage and didn't venture through it as well as Kion putting his friend Ono before himself. Still, she doubted about their good intentions and was wary of Kion a few times after the fact, especially when it was revealed that Makucha and his army had followed the Lion Guard on their way to the Tree of Life. For all her strength and sense of duty however, Rani hides a vulnerable side of uncertainty and doubt in herself that she is hesitant to expose. Getting to know Kion and the Lion Guard, especially after the heartbreaking loss of her grandmother and subsequent coronation as the new queen of the Tree of Life, helped Rani find the self-assurance that she needed to show that she was indeed ready to be queen, knowing that she had her friends and family at her side. Ultimately, this doubt and uncertainty led to Rani and Kion finding a connection as leaders, and sharing how they had both doubted themselves and their respective abilities to lead, causing them not only to begin to understand each other better, but also to let their friendship eventually blossom into true love. History Prior to The Lion Guard Rani was the daughter of Sãhasí and Ãnanda and had a younger brother named Baliyo. As the eldest, Rani was the future queen of the Tree of Life. However, after the deaths of her parents, Rani's grandmother Queen Janna had taken Rani in and raised her to become the next queen. Rani had also taken up leadership Night Pride, a nocturnal group of lions who are sworn to protect the Tree of Life, consisted of her brother, her uncle Surak, and the newcomer Nirmala. One day, Rani met and befriended the lone cheetah Azaad of whom Queen Janna healed after an unexpected fall. At some point in her life, Rani obtained a scar on her foreleg from an unknown incident, which would last with her throughout her life. The Tree of Life When Bunga causes a rock slide that blocks the entrance to the Tree of Life, Rani gets worried that the visitors might be a threat. Ullu leads the Night Pride to the Lion Guard. Rani and her uncle Surak think that they are strangers. Baliyo, her younger brother goes up to see who the strangers are. Upon seeing the Lion Guard, Baliyo attacks Kion and the rest of the Night Pride attacks the Guard. Kion soon uses the Roar of the Elders on Baliyo and Rani gets upset. Rani says that he and his friends aren't welcome to the Tree of Life. Rani soon asks if her brother is okay and he says that he is. He starts to feel dizzy while Rani decides to speak with her grandmother Janna. Rani tells Janna about the intruders she faced and mentions the lion with a scar had a powerful roar and Janna says that the roar has returned to the Tree of Life. Rani is hesitant to think that the roar is meant to be good and asks about the scar in Kion's eye. Janna tells her we all have our scars and tells her to remember "Sisi ni sawa". Janna tells her grand-daughter to welcome the Lion Guard to the Tree of Life. Rani tells the Night Pride that Janna wants to welcome the travelers which Baliyo is against having felt the impact of Kion's roar. Surak and Nirmala tell Baliyo to think before acting and to relax. Rani soon talks to the spirits of her parents Sãhasí and Ãnanda to seek guidance. Rani is worried that something bad will happen if she lets the Lion Guard in, but they say to listen to Janna and welcome the Guard into the Tree of Life. After finding the Guard they notice that they cleared the path without trying to enter any further. Kion says sorry about the rock slide and pleads for Ono to be healed at the very least. Rani welcomes Ono and tells Kion they're all welcome to Tree of Life. The River of Patience Rani brings the Lion Guard inside the Tree of Life to speak with her grandmother Janna. Janna asks her healer, Nirmala to help treat Kion's scar. While Kion is getting healed Janna asks Rani to show the rest of the guard around the Tree of Life. Rani tells them all about the Tree of Life and says that everyone is welcome to the Tree of Life. Ullu comes to tell Rani some important news and Rani leaves the guard behind. Rani and the Night Pride confront Makucha, Chuluun, and Ora. The Night Pride fights them off, but Kion and the Lion Guard arrive after it's all over and crashes into her. Rani didn't want their help and tells them to get healed quickly so that they can leave as soon as possible. After hearing the descriptions of the animals the Night Pride fought, Kion realizes that Makucha and the others must have followed them. This greatly angers Rani as it confirmed her worst fears about something bad happening if she let the Lion Guard into the Tree of Life as there is now a group of vicious predators on her doorstep. Rani talks to her grandmother about this problem and claims that they should have never let Kion and the Lion Guard in. Janna tells Kion to not worry about protecting the Tree of Life and to continue his healing while Rani and the Night Pride deal with the predators. Rani asks Nirmala if Kion is healed yet and Nirmala says that he needs more time to heal completely. Rani hopes it doesn't take too long as Kion and the Lion Guard are nothing but trouble. Makucha and the others come back again and the Night Pride fights them. Baliyo gets bitten by Ora's venom and is left incapacitated. Kion completes his task of getting the flower and helps fight off Makucha and Chuluun. Rani then thanks to the Lion Guard for their help. Little Old Ginterbong Rani is hanging out with the Lion Guard and her brother. Soon Kion and Nirmala come along. Kion has mud on his face and after being asked about it Nirmala says that it's part of his healing. Nirmala says that Kion has a long way to go before he gets healed. She also says that it's time for Ono to get healed. Ono is excited and he heads off to the Tree of Life. Fuli sarcastically asks if Bunga can get any noisier when he eats. Baliyo says that Bunga should meet his friend Binga. Rani and her Night Pride soon see Mama Binturong being chased by Makucha's army not realizing that Mama being attacked was all an act so that she could enter the Tree of Life without raising suspicion. They save Mama and welcome her to the Tree of Life. Kion asks if Rani is here for Ono's healing and Rani says that she's just letting Mama Binturong (calling herself Granny Ginterbong to hide her identity) into the Tree of Life. After Mama Binturong finds out the weaknesses of the Night Pride and Queen Janna, Rani tries to find her a tree to rest in, but Mama dismisses Rani and tells her to get some rest instead. The Night Pride hears that Makucha's army is attacking Mama Binturong, but that is actually a diversion because Mama Binturong is on the other side of the Tree of Life so that Makucha's army could attack Queen Janna undeterred. The plan goes awry and the Night Pride spots Mama Binturong after failing to attack Bunga and claims she was attacked by Binga and Bunga. Bunga explains what really happened and she runs off as Bunga explains who she really is. Before she goes off too far, Bunga and Binga stop her with their stink. Rani tells Ono that he was the one who figured out Mama Binturong's plan and thanks Ono for his help. Poa the Destroyer Rani hears from Baliyo that there's a bad guy on the loose in the Tree of Life scaring the animals. Rani doesn't understand how a huge bad guy could have gotten past the Night Pride, Ullu, and The Lion Guard. After talking to Pinguino, she realizes that the bad guy Pinguino named "Poa the Destroyer" is just Kion's friend Beshte. She asks Baliyo to round up the rest of the Lion Guard while she looks for Kion. Rani asks Kion how well he knows Beshte and then tells Kion to come to the Tree of Life for an explanation. Beshte wonders why the animals are scared of him, Rani explains and Beshte thinks he is a destroyer. Ono says once the animals get to know Beshte they're sure to like him. Rani tells the animals that there has been a misunderstanding. The Lion Guard tells the animals that Beshte isn't a bad guy. When the penguins show up, Rani sees that Pinguino is missing. She says that he needs to be here since he caused the biggest fuss. Kion asks Anga to find Beshte and Pinguino. They soon show up after saved Pinguino's life and Pinguino says that Beshte is now Poa the Life Saver. The animals soon cheer for Beshte. Long Live the Queen Rani, the Night Pride, and the Lion Guard are stopping Makcuha's army from preventing a family of Tigers from entering the Tree of Life. After Makucha's Army is forced to retreat, Rani invites the tigers to see Queen Janna. Ullu soon comes by saying that Queen Janna would like to see her and the Night Pride along with Kion. Rani sees a group of animals surrounding the Tree of Life and Rani realizes that Janna is about to pass away. Baliyo doesn't want to go in, but she and the Night Pride offer him emotional support. Queen Janna weakly says her goodbyes to her family and tells Rani that it's time for her to become queen. Rani thinks she isn't ready and Queen Janna says she is and that she has everything she needs to help her. She starts to cry as Queen Janna passes away. Kion gives Rani his condolences and Rani thanks him while crying on his shoulder as he sheds a tear as well. This is when Rani starts seeing Kion as more than a friend. Makini soon tells the animals of the Tree of Life the sad news. At the funeral, Rani is sad and alone so Kion goes to talk to her. Rani tells him about her admiration for her grandmother and is worried she won't measure up to her. Kion encourages her and opens up about his own doubts when he started leading the Lion Guard. Kion tells her that he hasn't been talking to his grandfather Mufasa since he got his scar out of worry that he'll resemble Scar to Mufasa. Rani says we all have scars while showing him the scar on her forepaw and says "sisi ni sawa" which is what her Grandmother said that convinced Rani to let Kion into the Tree of Life, which is a decision Rani is now glad about. Rani tells Kion that just talking to Mufasa might make him feel better and Kion thanks her for the advice while telling Rani she's a lot like her Grandmother which leaves Rani taken aback by the favorable comparison. Makini soon shows Rani all the paintings that she made inside the Tree of Life that can be used for information whenever Rani needs it. The tigers soon come back and ask if they can stay at the Tree of Life. Rani says they're welcome to stay and goes with Bunga to find them a new home. Rani takes the tigers to a snow-covered forest and vouches for them when the local musk deer are unsure about accepting them. Rani then goes to her coronation at sunset. Fuli, Anga, and Nirmala greet Rani with a song as she becomes queen. All the animals cheer for her, while Makini declares it's time, she anoints Rani's forehead, saying Janna would've been proud of her before declaring Rani as the new queen of the Tree of Life, causing all to chant "Long live the Queen". That night Rani tells her spiritual grandmother that she's ready to be queen. The Lake of Reflection Rani and the Night Pride are forced to fight with Makucha's army at dawn, but the Night Pride is exhausted due to their normal shift being almost over. Kion and the Lion Guard arrive to try and help fight off their enemies, but Kion's orders interfere with Rani's orders, which causes the Night Pride and Lion Guard to stumble and collide into each other. Rani takes full command and they manage to drive off Makucha's army. Rani tells Kion to follow her lead from now on and that Kion has "potential" to be a great leader which Fuli and Bunga dispute saying that he already is a great leader. Despite being worried that he's not much of a leader now when he can't control the roar, Kion offers to help Rani by having the Lion Guard to patrol during the day so that Rani and the Night Pride can rest which Rani accepts. Fuli tells Rani that she's worried that Kion is getting worse because he now lacks confidence in himself while Rani tells Fuli to have faith in Nirmala's healing methods. But, Rani privately talks to her uncle Surak and tells him that she's worried that Fuli is right about Kion's healing progress. Rani goes to see Kion at the lake and Kion is still worried that his scar won't ever heal, which means that he can't use the Roar and can't lead the Lion Guard. Rani questions if Kion actually needs it and then floats the idea of what her Grandmother said about the Roar being destined to return meant that Kion would give up the Roar before departing the Tree of Life. Rani is then interrupted by a dispute between a panda and lemurs over who can eat from the best bamboo stand. Rani suggests that they adapt Kion's idea about going in shifts and apply it to eating from the bamboo stand which the Panda and lemurs agree to do. Rani departs with the Lion Guard and admits to Fuli she's worried about Kion's progress as well and that Kion might have reached the limit of how much he will be healed. Fuli suggests they go back to the Pride Lands while Rani tells them she's worried Kion doesn't think he can lead the Lion Guard without the Roar which the others dispute. Rani is too tired to continue talking and goes off to rest. Makucha's army comes back to attack at sunset and Rani is the last to arrive. Since Rani hadn't arrived yet, Kion takes command and Rani is impressed when she makes it to the battle and witnesses Kion effectively leading the Lion Guard and Night Pride in coordinated attacks against the vicious and glutinous predators. After the battle is won, Rani appears and tells Kion that he is a great leader after all. Triumph of the Roar Makucha's army attacks again at sunrise and the Night Pride is exhausted due to their regular patrol being almost over. But Kion and the Lion Guard are well-rested and fight off the group of gluttonous predators. After forcing the predators to retreat, Nirmala tells Kion that he's finally healed and the Lion Guard takes that as a sign that they can go back to the Pride Lands. However, that troubles Rani and she asks if Kion and the Lion Guard have to leave right now. Kion eases Rani's concerns by telling her they still have to patrol the Tree of the Life during the day so that Rani and the Night Pride can go get some rest. Bunga goes to the Tree of Life to speak to Rani and disturbs her sleep. Bunga thinks there's something weird going on with Kion regarding his Roar and Makini says that Kion may still be working on his roar. Makini tells Rani all about Askari, the first leader of the first Lion Guard, and how Askari would go to Cikha Escarpment to practice the Roar. Rani has an epiphany about Kion and the Roar and she wants to see him alone, but Bunga insists on tagging along and she reluctantly brings him with her. They watch Kion using the Roar in different ways and are astonished. Soon they hear from Anga about Makucha's army attacking animals at the Tree of Life. Anga brings them to the battle and Kion uses the full extent of his new roar abilities on the army. He blasts them with concentrated bursts, creates small twisters, and even summons lightning to save the Night Pride trapped behind a boulder in the Tree of Life. Everybody, including Rani, is amazed at Kion's new abilities. Kion roars a giant twister that sweeps up every member of Makucha's army and sends them all far away from the Tree of Life, ending their threat for good. After realizing the full power of Kion's roar, Rani asks Kion to stick around instead of returning to the Pride Lands which leaves Kion and the Lion Guard stunned. Journey to the Pride Lands After Kion is finished speaking to Mufasa, Rani comes up to Kion and asks if he thought about what she said, Kion teases her about when she initially stated that he would never be welcome at the Tree of Life and Rani says it's funny how things can change once you get to know someone. They both think that they make a great team and confess their feelings for each other singing Of the Same Pride. Rani tells Kion that she could use his help to maintain peace at the Tree of Life. Kion replies that she doesn't need anyone's help with that since she's already a great leader. Rani thanks Kion for the compliment and says that she wants to be a great Queen as well and that a great queen could use a great king and floats the idea of Kion being her King and mate. Before Kion can answer, the guard arrives and they're wondering why they haven't departed yet? Rani wishes that they would consider staying and most of the Lion Guard is open to the idea except for Fuli who is reluctant. Soon, Azaad appears and Fuli asks Rani how she knows him? She says that he's been to the Tree of Life before to help with an injury. Rani asks why he's here and Azaad says that he was showing travelers how to get to the Tree of Life. Kion’s friends, Janja and Jasiri, come and tell the Guard that Zira and her Pride have come into the Outlands. Kion knows that it's his and the Lion Guard's duty to protect the Pride Lands from Zira and decides to head back with Rani somberly accepting Kion's decision and obligation to the Pride Lands. Makini chooses to stay since she's taken the role of Rani's Royal Mjuzi. Rani says goodbye to the Guard and tells Kion that she meant what she said and that he and the Lion Guard will always be welcome at the Tree of Life. As the Lion Guard departs, Rani says to Makini that maybe the Roar will return to the Tree of Life again, someday. Return to the Pride Lands Kiara notices Kion stargazing and Kion says that seeing her and Kovu together reminded him of a friend he made at the Tree of Life. Realizing that Kion is talking about a female, Kiara wants to know her name. Kion tells her it's Queen Rani and Kiara is impressed that it's a queen. Kion lists off Rani's great qualities and Kiara can tell that Kion has feelings for her. Kiara senses that Kion misses her which Kion admits to and Kiara says that maybe he can go back to the Tree of Life again someday stating their parents wouldn't mind. Kion eventually relinquishes his role as the leader of the Lion Guard to Vitani and gives her the ability to use the Roar. Askari appears and tells Kion that he's mastered the Roar which confuses Kion since he doesn't understand why he'd still need the Roar? Askari tells him there's another place that could use the Roar's help and Kion realizes he's talking about the Tree of Life. At that moment, the Mark of the Night Pride given to Kion by Queen Janna before her death appears on Kion's body. Kion asks the rest of his Guard if they would like to help Queen Rani protect the Tree of Life? They all agree and gain the Mark of the Night Pride as well. Sometime later after the events of Simba's Pride Kion, the old Lion Guard, and all of their friends and family are at the Tree of Life to witness Kion's wedding to Rani and ascension to King of the Tree of Life. Kion approaches Rani who tells him how glad she is that The Roar has returned to The Tree of Life. Kion assures her that it's here to stay for good this time and they tell each other how much they're looking forward to ruling the Tree of Life together. With all of their family and friends in attendance, Kion and Rani become mates as well as the King and Queen of the Tree of Life. Songs Welcome to the Tree of Life Of the Same Pride Family Janna: Grandmother † Sãhasí: Father † Ãnanda: Mother † Surak: Uncle Baliyo: Brother Kion: Mate Simba: Father-in-Law Nala: Mother-in-Law Kiara: Sister-in-Law Kovu: Brother-in-Law Mufasa: Grandfather-in-Law † Sarabi: Grandmother-in-Law Scar: Granduncle-in-Law † Bunga: Adopted Uncle-in-Law Trivia Rani means Queen in Sanskrit, which also makes sense, because she becomes the new Queen of the Tree of Life, thus succeeding her grandmother after her death. The lines of Rani's back paws are less thin than the lines of her front paws, it's a mistake. In her original concept art, Rani had a thin line of the color of her muzzle on the tip of her snout. Her spots were less dark and she was also missing the bright colored pink scar on her left front leg. Her grandmother Janna, taught her the important lesson of Sisi ni Sawa (We all have our scars, but in our hearts we're all similar to each other) that helped her to let Kion and his friends into the Tree of Life. Rani also knows about the sibling tragedy between King Mufasa and his younger brother Scar that happened far away in the Pride Lands. Not counting the Pride Landers chanting Long live the King! and Long live the Queen!, as well as the The Lion Guard Chorus singing Long Live the King, Rani (along with Kion) share the last lines of the series: "Ready?" "Yes, I am." Rani/Relationships Romance Kion Kion is Rani's mate and king. When Rani first met Kion, she thought that he was a threat to the inhabitants of the Tree of Life since Bunga caused a rock slide by accident and Kion used the Roar on her brother Baliyo. Rani pinned down Kion in anger and initially told him that he and the Lion Guard will never be welcome at the Tree of Life. But Rani reluctantly lets the Lion Guard in after being told to do so by her grandmother, Queen Janna, after Rani told her about Kion's roar. Despite letting them into the Tree of Life, Rani thought Kion and the Lion Guard were just going to create more problems for her and the Night Pride. She was quite irate when Kion told her Makucha and his predators must have followed him as it confirmed her worst fears about welcoming the Lion Guard to the Tree of Life. However, she starts to warm up to Kion when he helps her fight off Makucha. A major turning point in their relationship happened when Queen Janna passed away and Kion comforted Rani, for which she was tearfully grateful. After the funeral, the two of them grew much closer as they opened up about their own personal doubts and worries, while also encouraging one another. Even though the two of them have become close friends and Rani is shown to value Kion's advice, she still thinks that Kion isn't doing a great job as leader of the Lion Guard after they nearly botched the Night Pride's fight with Makucha's army. Rani was proven wrong when she witnessed Kion leading both the Lion Guard and Night Pride in coordinated attacks to fight off Makucha's army in her absence and told Kion that he is a great leader. Soon after, Rani begins to show signs that she's fallen in love with Kion. During the first fight with Makucha's army, Rani appeared to be gazing in admiration at Kion after he attacked Makucha. After the fight was over, Rani appeared to be troubled when the Lion Guard said they could go home and asked if they had to leave immediately. Rani was relieved and grateful when Kion stated the Lion Guard still had a duty to guard the Tree of Life during the day. After hearing the story of Askari and the roar, Rani wanted to talk to Kion in private, probably to confess her feelings to him and ask him to stay, before Bunga insisted on tagging along. After Kion used the full extent of his new roar abilities on Makucha's army and drove them out of the Tree of Life for good, Rani asked him and the lion guard to stay at the Tree of Life which stunned all of them. Eventually, Kion and Rani both confess they are in love with each other and she even asks Kion to be her king and mate. Kion and the Lion Guard seriously consider Rani's offer of staying, but they're forced to go back to the Pride Lands to protect them from Zira and her pride of lions. Though visibly disappointed, Rani accepted Kion's decision to leave, understanding that his home was in danger and that the guard had a duty to protect it. Before Kion left, Rani tells him she meant what she told him and later tells Makini that maybe the roar will return to the Tree of Life again someday. Though he returned to the Pride Lands to see to its safety, Kion learned the war with Zira's pride was already over before he arrived. Zira died in the conflict, Zira's pride ended up joining the Pride Landers, and Kovu's sister Vitani created her own Lion Guard in Kion's absence. Later that night, Kion confides in Kiara his feelings for Rani and admits that he misses her with Kiara saying that maybe he could go back to the Tree of Life again someday and claims their parents wouldn't mind. After Kion relinquishes his position as leader of the Lion Guard to Vitani, Askari appears and suggests to Kion that he should go back to the Tree of Life to protect it with the Roar which allows Kion to regain the Mark of the Night Pride given to him by Queen Janna. The former Lion Guard members accept Kion's offer of joining the Night Pride and they return to the Tree of Life. With the Pride Landers and Tree of Life inhabitants in attendance, Kion and Rani become mates, as well as the King and Queen of the Tree of Life. Family Janna Janna is Rani's late paternal grandmother. Janna loved her granddaughter Rani very much. This can be seen in the following things that she did for her: She gave her advice to let the right animals into the Tree of Life. When the Lion Guard showed up, Rani was at first worried about letting them in, but Janna insisted they be let in. After Janna had completed her journey in the Circle of Life, Rani was heartbroken and missed her grandmother a lot. She wasn't sure, if she should or could be queen, and was worried about following in her grandmother’s paw prints. It was the help of her friends and family that led her to find the self-assurance that she was ready, certain that her grandmother was watching over her, stating Janna had been right that she (Rani) was ready to become queen. Baliyo Baliyo is Rani's younger brother. Rani cares a lot for her brother. She is very protective of him and doesn't want her brother to get hurt. When Kion used the Roar of the Elders on Baliyo and gave him a concussion, she got mad at Kion for having hurt her younger brother (ignoring the fact that Baliyo started the fight and attacked Kion first). Sâhasí And Ãnanda Rani's late father and late mother, respectively. Rani loves her mother and father very much. She talks to them in the same way as Kion does to his grandfather, Mufasa. Season 3 The Tree of Life "Thank you Ullu, we'll take it from here." "Ullu's right, I don't recognize these voices. Surak?" "Misunderstanding? Is that what you call this rockslide?" "I'm Rani, leader of the Night Pride. We protect everyone at the Tree of Life from those who might cause harm, like you and your roar." "You and your friends will never be welcome at the Tree of Life. Leave now and never return." "Oh. Of course we will welcome Ono. But, anyone who's willing to put their friend's well-being before their own is worthy as well." "Lion Guard. Welcome to the Tree of Life." The River of Patience "You might wonder what makes the Tree of Life such a special place. As you can see, the Tree of Life is a home to every kind of habitat." "Tour's over, gotta go." "Maybe not, but we know." "We are the Night Pride, and you have one chance to turn around and go back where you came from." "We're the Night Pride, remember?" "And this time, stay out." "Defending the Tree of Life is our job. And we're good at it. We don't need your help. You came for healing, so stay out of our way, get healed, and go home." Little Old Ginterbong "You're safe now, and that's all that matters. Now let's get you to the Tree of Life." "We'd rescued her from the villains lurking outside the pass." "I don't know, but we need to stop them. Ullu. Find the Lion Guard. Ask them to meet at the river." "Ono? Ullu says you're the one who figured out Mama Binturong's plan." Poa the Destroyer "How could a bad guy that big get past Ullu? And us? And the Lion Guard?" "Kion? How well do you know Beshte? "I think he's fine. But... come on. Baliyo is gathering the rest of the Lion Guard at the Tree of Life. I'll tell you on our way there." "They say you demolished the penguins' ice slide, threw rocks at the goats, and knocked over the shrews with a tidal wave." Long Live the Queen "Thank you, Kion." "Someone has to tell them. I'll do it." "Thank you, Makini." "We all have our scars Kion. Sisi ni sawa. It's something my grandmother says, it means..." "My grandmother told me what Scar did to Mufasa." "Grandmother Janna? You were right. I'm ready." The Lake of Reflection "Your team did help, Kion, but from now on, follow my lead." "That's far enough". "My grandmother trusted Nirmala to become the healer at the Tree of Life. You should trust her too." "Looks like I missed all the action. But you handled it fine without me. I guess Fuli was right. You are a great leader, Kion." Triumph of the Roar "If Kion were to learn everything the Roar can do, and the Roar were to stay here... I need to talk to Kion. In private." "I really don't know. But I'm stating to understand Fuli a little better." "I've never seen anything like that in my life." "I don't know what to say, Kion. Thanks for getting rid of them?" "Now I know why Queen Janna was so happy to have the Roar back at the Tree of Life. And now that it's here, you should stick around." Journey to the Pride Lands "Funny how things can change once you get to know someone." "We really do make a good team, Kion." "I want to be a great queen someday, too. And a great queen could use a great king... like you." "So, Lion Guard, this is goodbye. Thank you for helping me defend the Tree of Life. I consider each of you a member of my pride. Fuli, Bunga, Beshte, Ono, Anga. Kion, I know you need to protect the Pride Lands, but I meant what I said before." "Maybe the Roar will return again, someday." Return to the Pride Lands "Kion. I'm glad the Roar has returned to the Tree of Life, again." "I'm looking forward to ruling the Tree of Life with you." "We already do. Ready?"
